Happy I studied both hard and smart, i.e., adhered to the advice of intelligent and generous others.
Grateful I received the advice to:
- focus on materials from the core courses, current events, and ALA website
- breathe
- relax
- taper
Feeling good about my perception of how well I performed, but attempting to temper the euphoria in case it’s more arrogance than accuracy.
Feeling good about how my OU-Tulsa classmates fared, as their eyes, though bleary, were mostly cheery.
Anticipating the results which are due in two weeks.
Hey, we made it! Feels kinda…weird. Maybe it just hasn’t sunk in yet.
I agree, it does feel strange: like a rug hanging on a line after a good dust beating – ready for the next round, but not quite refreshed.
Hope I was as lucid as I intended to be yesterday.
Actually, I do have a good feeling about the overall results of the exam, for all involved. All I saw yesterday were smiles of relief (grimaces of determination?); all I heard was intent typing (happily, no sighs, swoons, or emesis ;-)
Only one person in Norman seemed less than confident when we were done — otherwise folks were ready to just let it go.
I like the rug image!
Spent today making the rounds of the local “junque” shops. It was the first Saturday in two months I hadn’t had to study! Woohoo!
It appears you planned a little better than I for the reality of post comps.
My Saturday was spent reading, reading, reading, topped off by the taking of a quiz.
Today: seems there’s an assignment to be slipped into the dropbox before Cinderella abandons her shoe . . . .
Well, she may not have posted the quiz or assignment very early, but I was able to get through the chapters just before she did post them and so took the quiz last weekend (didn’t do so hot but didn’t care enough to take it twice). And the assignment’s not too hard — though best not to get me started on the bad pedagogy of asking students to supply information that they cannot get.
Didn’t I read one of the choices of how to respond to the part of supplying info you aren’t able to obtain was to “make your best guess” :-P
And as for the quiz, three or four of the questions contained extremely ambiguous wording. I found myself wanting to write “it all depends.”
Linda,
Well, congratulations on surviving your comps! Sorry that I did not drop you a message earlier. But I did think about you on Friday and was sending nothing but best wishes and vibes your way.
The hard parts done, now you just have to hurry up and wait for the results (which will be exemplary, I’m sure).
Take care and I’ll see you this week.
Thanks, Tom!
I appreciate the positive energy.
