As for where Dr. Silver spoke while attending the 2007 OK-ACRL conference, this second article – also from today’s Tulsa World – reveals the contrast between that sunny November day and today’s post ice storm (most notably, the truncation of the trees along the entryway) .
oh, this is terrible! i’m sorry to hear this news. i hope it is not irreparable damage.
The statistical consensus seems to be that the Tulsa metro area lost about 1/3 of its trees, so spring and summer will likely be a bit less shady for a few seasons. Nonetheless, I’ve little doubt the trees will be replaced and northeastern Oklahoma’s moniker, i.e. Green Country, will be restored.
