Good morning! I just wanted to drop you a quick note before it got too late in the week to wish you the best of luck with comps on Friday (I know you’ll be prepared and it shouldn’t be a problem for you).
Don’t forget to breath . . . and when all else fails, move on to another question. You can always return to a previous question after you get “unstuck.” Sometimes just redirecting your thoughts away from one topic for a bit can help refocus you later.
I’m actually beginning to look forward to taking the exam; my anxiety seems to be morphing into anticipation. (I especially look forward to a reprieve from the monomania.)
The combination of what I’ve learned from OU instructors and classmates, colleagues and coworkers, will surely go far to assist in my success.
I’m just hoping for a restful night’s sleep on CE Eve.
Hope the SLA conference went well and that you made it to the Needle!
I, too, want to wish you the best. Tom is right: don’t get hung up right out of the gate. Find the first question you know then tackle it. Take 5 minutes for a stretch, bathroom, etc then hit it again. Repeat. Rinse. Relax.
Linda,

We are all pulling for you!

Thanks, Tom!

Thanks for the excellent (and oh-so-humorous) advice, GG!
Here’s the current list of what’ll be running through my head as I cross the lab’s threshold:
This is Sparta
Breathe
Relax
All too easy
Breathe
Relax
Berrypick answering the questions
Breathe
Rinse
Relax
[Sounds a bit like the Lamaze of the labor room; hope there's no screaming . . . .]
This is Sparta!=only screaming allowed ;-)
